Jo Booth and her team at Social Media Makes Sense Ltd are pleased to announce their partnership with new BBC commission, Age Before Beauty.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be working on such an exciting new project with a long-time colleague Debbie Horsfield,” Jo said.
Following their highly successful social media campaign for hit show Poldark, Debbie Horsfield, writer of both shows, said, “It seemed like an obvious choice to get Jo on board for my next show as well.” Debbie is also known for Cutting It, True Dare Kiss, and All The Small Things, to name but a few.
Age Before Beauty is set in a beauty salon in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. It explores the current obsession with staying young, instant gratification, and the fear of ageing in a mixing pot of family rivalries and relationship struggles.
Produced by Mainstreet Pictures (Unforgotten, Him, I Want My Wife Back), Debbie will be working alongside long-time colleagues Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes, who also worked on Cutting It.
Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content says: “Debbie Horsfield’s new contemporary series is set to be the Cutting It for a new generation.”
SMMS will be covering Twitter, Facebook and other aspects of online engagement. With SMMS’ current streak of successes, including Poldark (BBC), Victoria and Endeavour (ITV), Mainstreet said they were looking forward to working with SMMS, and expected to achieve great things together.
